MAADC; EMPOWERMENT COACH
Do you want help?
Do you need someone focused on YOUR needs and desires, not their own judgements?
Are you already working on recovery, but find yourself getting stuck with no clue what to do next?
Do you need help seeing past the next ten minutes, and into what the future might hold?
Do you want to work with someone who understands, from a first-hand perspective?
Shawna might be the coach you need.
Shawna is an empowerment coach who helps people struggling with barriers in their life around substance use, trauma, and finances increase their quality of life and break free from debt and past experiences. Shawna helps people rise above what's holding them back and achieve the goals they've been desperately searching for.
Many of the people Shawna coaches feel as if they've spent a lifetime trying to solve their problems and find peace.
Shawna is also a Missouri Associate Alcohol and Drug Counselor (MO Certificate #12542). She is trained and recognized by the State of Missouri as a substance use treatment professional.
Some things Shawna often helps people overcome:
Drinking or using so much it's interfering with family and work
"I know I'm drinking too much, but how do I scale back?"
"I spent HOW MUCH this month on weed???"
"My boss is really noticing my job performance has been shaky."
"My kids deserve more than this."
Changing unhealthy ways of thinking learned during past abuse
"I'll never be enough."
"I don't deserve this."
"I'm broken because of what happened."
"Can I trust myself?"
Old habits with money that stop you from reaching your financial goals
"I'm working so hard and still don't know where half my money goes."
"I can't believe I spent that much again this weekend! Something needs to change."
"I'm working my butt off, but don't have any savings to show for it. I'm so tired of emergency expenses knocking me back."
"I don't know where to start setting goals and changing my mindset towards money."
FLIPPING THE LIGHT ON
I learned at a very young age the feeling of pain, betrayal, and self-hate. From those feelings I developed an unhealthy attitude. I did not know how to deal with these stressors nor how to label them, so I acted out in much less than desirable ways. Coping with one tragedy after another left me feeling empty and alone.
I began the trek of finding my place in this world much later in life than many do. However, I arrive daily at a new point in my journey. I found that people would come to me for a listening ear and advice, and much to my surprise I enjoyed it! Even more I enjoyed teaching coping mechanisms, providing educational literature, and being there to listen to them.
I have finally discovered my “gift” and I operate in it daily in some capacity. Traveling down life’s dark roads can be the loneliest of places. I have come to realize that everyone needs someone they can trust to “flip the light on” for them from time to time and help them realize that "Today’s accomplishments were yesterday’s impossibilities"—Robert H. Schuller
